"Big Bend" was purchased in 1996 as a public recreation area along a 2-mile stretch of the Colorado River. This state park is one of the few in Nevada located completely within an urban town limits. The cool water of the Colorado River is the park's main attraction, with regular boat launches, swimming beaches, full campgrounds, and four additional miles of hiking trails through the park's dry washes.
