Intersection of US 6 and SR 360.

A remote point of reference and highway junction, 8 miles east of Montgomery Pass. Basalt Junction provides a direct cutoff for commuters headed between Bishop, California and points northward on US 95 via SR 360, the "Basalt Highway." Essentially, the purpose of this cutoff saves from having to travel all the way to the intersection of US 6 and US 95, a mileage of about thirty miles.
