Named after Arc Dome, a prominent peak in the Toiyabe Range of central Nevada. At 115,000 acres, the Arc Dome Wilderness is the largest wilderness area in Nevada, stretching from Ophir summit on the north to Peavine Canyon on the south. The wilderness area contains the highest peaks in the Toiyabe Range, with several trout streams, a handful of river systems, and a mixed swath of high altitude ecosystems, including riparian, montane forests, and alpine tundra. Elevations range 8,000 to 11,000 feet.
